How To...Test if a pool or spa is leaking


Tools Needed:

Five Gallon Bucket
Pencil

Instructions:

Step 1

Fill pool or spa to the proper level (usually halfway up the skimmer.)
Mark the exact water level with your pencil either in the skimmer or on a tile somewhere, be sure to get a proper measurement when the water is still.

Step 2

Fill your five gallon bucket up to approximately 3-6 inches from the top. Then place it on the step of the pool or spa. DO NOT SWIM OR FILL POOL FOR ENTIRE LENGTH OF TEST! Wait 24 hours and measure the exact loss if any in your pool or spa then compare it to the loss if any in your bucket.

If the loss in your pool or spa is more then the loss in your bucket you may have a leak and should consult a professional from our Blue Pages to perform more intensive tests to pin-point the exact location in your pool or spa. All work is 100% Guaranteed!
